Overview

We are eager to show you a side of our city that is not often mentioned in the guide book but holds a special place for us locals. The heart of our city Bengaluru lies in its markets, locally called “Pete”. Around this epicentre are a magnificent palace, a beautiful temple and small units of silk weavers, goldsmiths, artisans and some delightful quaint hole in the wall cafe. Our walk through this region will connect the dots between all of the spaces you will visit transporting you seamlessly between the then and now of Bengaluru.

This is a guided experience and includes a hearty brunch.

Note: Some of the tour attractions cannot be experienced on Sundays as they would be closed. Alternatively, we will replace the visit to the silk weaving and Jewellery unit with a walk about the jewellery market and the fine fabric market.

Had an AMAZING tour with Ajith from Unventured Expeditions around Bangalore. He took me to some wonderful, hidden away places that I never would have found on my own, answered all my questions on his homeland and the city, was extremely kind and friendly, gave me some addition tips on what to see and where to do some spice shopping :) all in all, I was delighted with this tour and Ajith, couldn't recommend it enough, thanks very much!
Explore local with a local!

We got a very interesting tour at Tipu Sultan's Summef palace, followed by a Hindu temple where we experienced the real thing!
Next was the markets... Fruit, spices, amazing flowers and more... including some shopping! After that saree and silk factories, once again the real thing!
This tour is TRUE, showing how people work and live their lives in Bangalore, what many tourist tours leave out... amazing!
We also got a yummy brunch with South Indian food!
Our guide Gladys gave us a warm, personal and fun tour on the streets of Bangalore... don't miss it!
Highlight of our trip.

The flower markets and the brunch we’re absolute stand out experiences. The guide was excellent, great spoken english, very knowledgeable and engaging. Would probably suggest wearing covered shoes. Highly recommend this tour to see things you’d never see on your own.

The heart of every Indian city is bustling with markets teaming with life and economic activity. The Pete (City Market) area in Bengaluru is the epicentre of business and trade for the locals of the city and beyond. Trading in the Pete is geographically divided by the commodity one wishes to buy or sell. Akkipete (Rice Market), Aralepete (Cotton Market), Balepete (Bangle Market), Chikka Pete (Small Market), Dodda Pete (Big/Wholesale Market), Nagarath Pete (Jewellers market) so on and so forth. As you’ve rightly guessed Bangalore has a market for every commodity that you can imagine.
